I am leading with this because its my favorite. Throwing on a wheel involves doing the Ghost thing where you got am electric or kick wheel and you build up a pot by spinning it and using the momentum in combination with static / slow moving hand movements to pull clay into the shape you want.
These type of pots are very fun and basic but you can do a lot with them, it involves pinching a piece of clay into a pot shape. I never got into this kind of pottery very much but have seen folks do some amazing stuff with it. Don't underestimate it - and best part of all, it requires little - no tools and has a very low barrier of entry.
This is a technique that involves rolling coils and building up the walls of a pot like you would roll up a garden hose. This is actually a GREAT method to do very very big pieces and can also be combined with other methods for some interesting results.
Slab building is great for square things as well as not so square things. It does help to have a slab roller but is not required. This build method gives you lots of versatility for asymmetrical designs or more sculptural stuff.
